Очень даже хорошая первая подача, обилие укороченных и резаных ударов слева, замещающих нормальный раллийный бэкхенд, в меру опасный и умело подкручиваемый кистью форхенд, низкая стартовая скорость, не бог весть какая реакция и невысокий (163 см) рост – такого сальдо теннисных талантов хватило австралийке, чтобы выиграть в 2011 году юниорский «Уимблдон», хотя сама Эшли авантажным своим покрытием считает грунт. «Спортивный ботаник» (это не оскорбление, а самоназвание Барти) стремительно превращается в австралийскую Лору Робсон – авансов ей роздано минимум на пять титулов ТБШ вперед. «Я не видел никого, кто обладал бы таким огромным потенциалом, как Эшли. Она обновленная и лучшая версия Мартины Хингис. Пусть у нее нет силы Винус или Серены, но она обладает интуицией, которой нельзя научить», – это уже мнение Дэвида Тэйлора, тренера Саманты Стосур. Ванию Кинг, Бетани Маттек и Анну Татишвили эти оды не впечатлили, и дебют Барти в WTA-туре обернулся тремя подряд двухсетовыми поражениями. Но ведь и Стосур «не сразу строилась».

Barty wins Final of Nature's Way Sydney International
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: 15-year-old Ashleigh Barty won her first tournament as a professional today defeating the No 2 seed Olivia Rogowska in straight sets 61, 63 in the Nature's Way Sydney International Final at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.
Barty, the Wimbledon Junior champion, put in a spirited display. Barty only entered the tournament as a Qualifier but charged to a 5-0 lead in the first set with Rogowska having no answer to the constant pressure applied by her opponent.
In a spirited display which revealed all of her fighting qualities, Barty showed she is the one of the brightest prospects in Australian tennis with her performance. In the tournament overall she only lost one set in five matches.
However, Rogowska proved a formidable opponent clawing her way back into the match to lead 3-2 in the second set and looking likely to take away the early advantage Barty had gained in the match.
Barty then applied the pressure once more with her powerful strokes and was able to close out the match.
According to Barty, "the match was tight and the result didn't give a real indication of the closeness of the game. It was a very physical game with some long points but I will cherish the win. I am now in the main draw for an event in Mildura this week rather than entering as a Qualifier, so I am pleased with where my game is heading."
Coach Jason Stoltenberg said his advice to Ashleigh was to '"hang tough." "She did it in style against Olivia and she raised the bar to another level with some of the shots she played today. Her work ethic is excellent for one so young and she is very professional and self-motivated. It will be an interesting path she takes from this point on in terms of her development."

Победная серия составляет 13 матчей подряд(на прошлом турнире прошла квалю)
